(AU) NOCTIS -> IGNIS

[For all intensive purposes he should have died that night.
Noctis Lucis Caelum, the Chosen King. Fated to die.
Be it some miracle, or a judgement that weighed heavily on those who controlled his fate. But once the dawn broke, he found himself on the throne that was once his. The ring shattered, the emptiness that followed when his powers and abilities were suppressed. But this time he knew it wasn't coming back.
...
Like him, he shouldn't have come back.
Noctis had sat there for a good ten minutes, wondering as the light filtered through the broken ruins of what was once his home. The light warmed his skin, left him in a daze. He had been at peace with his decision, ready to die when there could have been so much more after he banished the darkness, overthrew the Usurper.
Longer still before he left, a sense of urgency behind his steps.
...
And now he was here, in one of the many caravans scattered at the Hammerhead lot. Since most places were destroyed these were in place of motels in certain spaces.
Ignis had the bed, recovering from some (thankfully) minor injuries. From what Noctis knew, there was a misstep and Ignis faltered, which made way for the injury. Gladio helped carry him here, and now Noctis was waiting for him to wake. Thankfully Gladio and Prompto left him here to his own devices, the pair going to check on nearby safe spots to see how people were faring on this new dawned day.
Watching him laying there... the rise and fall of his chest, how peaceful he looked while he was sleeping. Gently Noctis reaches out, tracing the curve of his jaw with trembling fingertips. He never thought he'd be here, to be privy to the aftermath.
To... have this time.
Now all he needed was for Ignis to wake.]

(continued from here.)
[sometimes noctis forgot that they were only two years apart, they they were no longer children or that ignis wasn't his extreme elder. not that he looked the part, no, but it's hard to think anything of it when he was being nagged about something or other in a motherly tone.
but now that they're alone, a precious commodity all things considered, and he's in a state of undress (he at least threw on a shirt and his boxers before lounging on his throne of pillows,) it sort of... hit him. it probably wasn't very appropriate to feed ignis in this way, or how his attention flicked from his eyes to his lips and the way he licked them clean.
noctis could feel a patch of heat crawling up the nape of his neck, breath hitching only barely- but enough for him to notice. and the rare smile nearly caught him off his guard. but it was enough to make him look away, ducking his head a bit to hide whatever heat made it's way to his face.
man... what was that all about?]
I like this better.
[all things considered.
noctis did like a good party, but it had to depend on his mood and how much he was willing to socialize for a day... or a week. too much company drained him, which... probably wasn't the best trait for a future king to display but he was working on it.
ignis was... home. and he needed home tonight (morning?) in particular.]
